Built Because Doing It Right Shouldn't Be Optional
We started Prime Hour Tech after watching too many Utah businesses get sold short by MSPs that cut corners, hid the true cost of their services, or told clients what they wanted to hear rather than what was true. We built this company on the opposite instinct. Do it right. Skip the shortcut every time, no matter what it costs us. Say what something actually costs. Fix the real problem, not just the ticket in front of us.
We serve law enforcement, municipal government, and 911 dispatch clients across Utah, all held to CJIS v6.0 compliance standards. Our team is CJIS certified at the Privileged Role level and CompTIA A+ certified, so every recommendation meets the same standard an auditor would expect to see.
"Answering your call isn't just customer service. It's the whole business."
We've been on every side of this work.
Enterprise IT for over a decade.
Before PHT, our founder ran infrastructure and security for organizations from 200 to 5,000 seats. Long migrations, late-night failovers, regulator audits, the unglamorous work that keeps a business open.
To keep all businesses from getting forgotten.
We've seen too many businesses sign with MSPs that promised the world and then routed every call into a queue. You shouldn't have to re-explain your setup every time you call. We wanted a shop where the engineer on your account today is still the one who picks up next year.
Flat-rate, line-itemed, no surprises.
Every client has a named primary engineer, a named backup, and a quarterly business review with the founder. Tickets go to the same people. Pricing is on one page. The contract is one PDF.
Who You'll Work With
No call centers. No rotating account managers. You get to know us, we get to know your stack, and that's how problems get solved fast.
I'm Ethan Higginson, CEO and co-founder of Prime Hour Tech. Years in IT services taught me one thing: technology should work for people, not the other way around, I built this company on that belief. I'm Utah born and raised, working on my Professional MBA.
I started fixing computers as a kid in my family's print shop, and the puzzle stuck. Give me a hard problem, and I'll stay with it until it's solved. That's still what I do today. I own the security baseline across our client portfolio and lead incident response, so when something goes wrong, I'm the one who answers. CompTIA A+ certified and CJIS certified at the Privileged Role level.
One office. One phone number. One team.
We're a single physical office in Payson, Utah. We don't operate satellite call centers, we don't outsource overnight tier-1, and as we grow, we hire the engineer first and figure out the desk second."
- Engineers, not "account managers," are on every call.
- On-site visits for any Utah based client.
- Quarterly office hours for clients, free for any working-stage problem.
Six things we put in writing.
Every one of these is in our MSA. Every breach is an automatic credit.
- We answer the phone. Always.
- We tell you the truth, even when it costs us a sale.
- We document everything. Nothing lives in one person's head.
- We treat your network like it's ours.
- We bill flat. No mystery line items.
- We assume the internet is hostile. We build accordingly.
Coffee, a tour of the office, or a discovery call.
All three work. We'll take 30 minutes to look at your stack and tell you whether PHT fits — even if the honest answer is 'not yet'.

Donald grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, starting his first job in landscaping at just 14. After an LDS mission in Norway and a Bachelor's in International Relations from the University of Utah, he enlisted in the Army and spent 6 years with the 75th Ranger Regiment; a role he loved before choosing family over continued service. Today, Donald is pursuing his MBA at the University of Utah. He lives in Layton with his wife and their son, who's obsessed with airplanes and dinosaurs, and the family spends their free time hiking, camping, and paddleboarding across Utah.
